La République de la Critique is a little free-thinking place for social-critical commentaries. It was started and made by Jésus de la Para with the occasional assistance of Gijs Advokaat.

Jésus de la Para is a curious Mexican from Guadelajara. Jésus and Gijs first met on the Dia del Indipensia in a punkrockbar and  had a serious discussion on the infuence of NOFX on Mano Negra. They still disagree but became good friends nontheless.

Later Jésus came to Amsterdam on a visit, unfortunately Gijs was living in Shanghai at the time. Being a true Mexican Jésus, very ‘tranquillo’, hung around to wait for his friend and fell in love with Amsterdam in the meantime.

Eventually Jésus went back, he is currently working as a biology teacher in San José de las Casas but always had aspirations as an graphic artist. Infrequently Gijs and Jésus get in touch and discuss Dutch and world topics which mostly results in a creative concept for Jésus to work on. The results of which you can enjoy here!
